Barbara (Pirie) Pelton

GENEVA - Barbara Pirie Pelton, 77, of Ansel Road, died Monday, at her home.  She was born March 20, 1925, daughter ofJohn and Agnes (Goodfellow) Pirie, in Lake forest, Ill. She married Leonard R. Pelton Jan. 21, 1945, in Geneva.  Mrs. Pelton was the director of financial services at Brown Memorial Hospital, Conneaut, from 1973 to 1988.


She graduated from
Geneva High School in 1943 and attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. 


Mrs. Pelton was a member of the
United Church where she taught Sunday School in her earlier years. She was also a Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout troop leader.  She was a charter member of Geneva Modern Literary Forum, part of the Hospital Financial Management Association, part of the Chapel Hills Golf Club and also golfed in Kingsville and Jefferson.   She spent winter months in South Carolina and Florida.


Survivors include daughter Jane P. Strauss of
Mantua; son John Richard of Palm Springs, Fla.; and grandchildren Erica and Eric Pelton of Florida.  She was preceded in death by daughter Jill P. Cowle, two brothers, Jack and Alexander Pirie and her parents.


Funeral is
11 a.m. Friday, at Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva. The Rev. Bob Cunningham of the United Church will officiate.   Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva.  Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
