Julia
M. Holmes
GENEVA — Julia M. Warren Holmes, 102, died
Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at her home. She was born June
1, 1900 in Ashtabula. She was a lifelong Geneva resident and worked at the Geneva 5
& 10, Champion Hardware, Industrial Rayon, Geneva Savings
and Trust and Kauvar’s. Mrs. Holmes gradated from Geneva High School
in 1918.
She was the
oldest member of Geneva
First United
Methodist Church,
which she attended for 89 years. She was in the choir,
keystone class and Miriam-Esther circle there.
Survivors
include two daughters, Nola Morey of Geneva and Margaret Harcourt of
Grangeville, Idaho; a stepdaughter, Joyce
Howard of Geneva; and ten grandchildren, Sherry Gleason, Terry Bevans, Edwin, Jeff and Julie Harcourt, Janice Vincent,
James Morey, Susan Bliss, Cathy Lipmert and Jerry
Howard. She was preceded in death by her
parents, her first husband, Clarence C. Warren in 1940; her second husband,
Donald Holmes in 1980; five brothers, Thorpe, Charles, George, Louis and Elmer
Miller; two sisters, Florence Reynolds and Marjorie Benbow.
Service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Behm Family Funeral
Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, with the Rev.
Hugh Hookway of Geneva
First United Methodist Church officiating.
