Thomas O. Hill

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Thomas O. Hill, 43, died Thursday night, April 25, 2002, at the Chambersburg home of his father- and mother-in-law.
Formerly of Porto Martins Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal, he was born Feb. 16, 1959 in Geneva, the son of William and Joyce (Hoover) Hill.
He was a 1977 Geneva High School graduate.
He served in the Army Reserves for three years, saw active duty with the Air Force for nine years and the Air Force Reserves for five years. He was on active duty with the Air Force in Charleston, S.C., between 1985 and 1994.
He lived in Youngstown between 1994 and 2001, and since July worked for the Air Force as a child development assistant at Lajes Field in the Azores.
He was a member of American Legion Post 166 in Goose Creek, S.C., and the Masonic Lodge in Charleston, S.C.
He married the former Helen J. Reeder on July 1, 1993.
Survivors include his parents; his wife; two daughters, Kerrie and Katie Hill, both of Kingsland, Ga.; a stepson, Ricky Meister of Baton Rouge, La.; and a sister, Heather Kohler of Columbiana.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Betty Jo Ellis in October 2000.
Service is noon Monday at the Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, Pa. Burial will be at Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars honor guard.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, and also one hour prior to Monday's service.
