Judith E. Bender

GENEVA — Judith E. Bender, 51, died Monday, January 27, 1997 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland.

She was born Aug. 9, 1945, in Geneva, the daughter of Raymond Bender and Velma A. LeCrone.

A lifetime city resident, Miss Bender was employed at Quality Buick, Geneva and Madison, in the parts department.  She was a member of Geneva First United Methodist Church, and helped with the Geneva Grape Jamboree – as Culinary Chairperson – for 12 years.

She was a horse owner, rider and trainer, and helped with local Girl Scout activities.  In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling.

Survivors include her mother, Velma Bender, of Geneva; a sister, Beverly Bender of Geneva; and a brother, Raymond W. Bender of Point Chatuque, NY.

She was preceded in death by her father, in 1946.

Funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at the Kennedy Funeral Home, Geneva.  The Reverend Charles Oplinger of Geneva United Methodist will officiate.  Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Ashtabula County Animal Protective League.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
