David A. Warner

ASHTABULA - David A. Warner, 64, of S. Ridge Road East, died on Saturday, April 26, 2003, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.He was born February 15, 1939, in Geneva, the son of James E. and Ada J. (Breyley) Warner, and had been an Ashtabula resident since 1992.

A 1957 graduate of Geneva High School, Mr. Warner worked as body shop manager for Marcy Chevrolet for 42 years.  A skilled auto body repairman, he taught auto body repair at the Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School and held numerous certificates of achievement from PPG and ASE.

He was one of the first members of the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Patrol Marine Division under Tom Fasula and served as an Auxiliary Sheriff's deputy for over 30 years. He previously ran the Marine Law Enforcement Program at Roaming Shores.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from 1962-­1964 and then spent 2 years in the reserves.

He enjoyed antique and classic cars, making RC boats, boating, golfing, bowling, fishing and decorating his home for Christmas.

His survivors include his wife, Diane (Menough) Warner, whom he married May 23, 1964; one brother, Glenn Warner of Ashtabula; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Frieda Galbraith.

A service will be held 12 noon on Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at the Plymouth United Methodist Church, 970 Plymouth Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Vernon Palo, Pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum, North Kingsville.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula.
