DALE R.  ARKENBURG

GENEVA – Dale R.
  Arkenburg, 72, died Sunday, February 13, 2005, at his home in Geneva.

Born Sept.  23, 1932, in Geneva, he was a lifelong Geneva resident and married Dianne Pierce on Sept.  10, 1955.

He was a 1951 graduate of Geneva High School, where he played on the State Basketball Team.  He served in the U.S.  Army in the Korean War and was a life member of VFW Post #6846.  He was a former member of Lions Club, Geneva Recreation Board, served as President of Geneva Little League and served as the announcer for Geneva High School Football for 25 years.

He worked at the Star Beacon for 291⁄2 years, as Classified & Display and Business Manager, and also worked at Massucci’s Geneva Ford.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Arkenburg; son, Dale S.  (Patricia Walunis) Arkenburg, all of Geneva; daughter, Pam (Ed) Lynch of Perry; four grandchildren, Noah Arkenburg, Renee, Sara and Eddie Lynch; and three sisters, Lois Harnist of Trumbull, and Betty Smith and Reva Brewer, both of Geneva.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth (Ruhl) and Clinton Arkenburg; a brother, Dick Arkenburg; and sisters, Ruth Bernardo and Ellen Arkenburg.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m.  Wednesday, Feb.  16, 2005, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, with the Rev.  Jim D.  Walker of Peoples Church, Geneva, officiating.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m.  and 7 to 9 p.m.  Tuesday, Feb.  15, 2005, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mt.  Pleasant Cemetery, Geneva.

Contributions may be made to the Geneva Little League.
