Richard J. Maynard

WOOSTER - Richard J. Maynard, 73, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at his home.

He was born Dec. 16, 1929, in Geneva, the son of Ralph and Jesse (Johnston) Maynard.

He was president of Maynard and Associates, a manufacturers representation firm.

He graduated from Geneva High School in 1947 and attended Ohio University and Mount Union College. He was a member of Elks Lodge 1346; the Ohio Historical Society; a 50-year associate of the Door and Hardware Association; and a 35-year member of the Wooster Country Club.

He was a veteran of the U.S. armed services during the Korean War, serving in Germany.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patricia (Mellen) Maynard, whom he married Dec. 27, 1951; three sons, George of Boston, Patrick of Columbus, and Jim of Youngstown; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Maynard Jr.

A private family service will be held at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
