Robert F. Fails Sr.

GENEVA - Robert F. Fails Sr., 76, of Geneva, died Sunday, July 15, 2001, at UHHS Geauga Hospital, in Chardon.
He was born April 8, 1925, in Geneva, the son of Oliver and Dora (Andrews) Fails.
Mr. Fails had been a lifelong resident of Geneva. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1942. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Northern France and the Rhineland Campaigns.
Mr. Fails married Rose Marie (Mansfield) Aug. 29, 1952 in Geneva.
He worked for the Nickle Plate, Norfolk Western and Norfolk Southern Railroads for 43 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Geneva First United Methodist Church, where he served as custodian for 15 years. Mr. Fails was also a member of the Geneva American Legion Post 124, former chairperson for Boy Scout Troop 750, member of the Nickle Plate Historical Society and National Railway Society.
He enjoyed model railroading.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Sandra Conley of Dorset; son, Robert Jr. of Madison; grandchildren, Susan Cobb, Chip Fails, Kaytlyn Fails, Brandy Conley and Brian Conley.
Service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Geneva First United Methodist Church, 89 S. Broadway St., Geneva, with the Revs. Hugh Hookway, Charles Oplinger and Richard Cheney officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at The Behm Family Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva.
