PERRY - Helen M. Hoffacker, 77, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at her home.
She was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Geneva, the daughter of William Sr. and Emma (Oberlin) Kothe, and had lived in the Perry and Geneva area her entire life.
She was a 1942 Spencer High School graduate and published the annual Spencer Alumni newsletter.
She worked as secretary to the superintendent of the Perry school district, retiring in 1991. At one time, she was society editor of the Geneva Free Press.
Mrs. Hoffacker was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Painesville, where she was a member of the Women's Friendship Circle, served on Church Council and ran the church prayer chain.
She loved traveling, roller skating, the Cleveland Indians, spending time with her granddaughter and volunteering at LakeEast Hospital, Painesville.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis of Painesville, and Gary and Dale of Perry; a granddaughter, Katie; and a sister, Marguerite Deloria of Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rex; and a brother, William Kothe.
Service is 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 250 Bowhall Road, Painesville, with the Rev. Eric R. Linthicum officiating. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.
Visitation is noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
