Robert G. Deemer

MENTOR - Robert G. Deemer, 93, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at Hospice House in Cleveland after a lengthy illness.  He was born April 3, 1909, in Antwerp, the son of Rolland and Millie (Nichols) Deemer.  He was a 1928 graduate of Geneva High School.


He worked as a machinist for many years at True Temper in Geneva and also worked 22 years at TRW, retiring in 1974.  He was a long-time member of Mentor United Methodist Church and received a 50-year award from Geneva Masonic Lodge 334 in 1994.  He enjoyed making cabinets and traveling.


Survivors include his wife, the former H. Lucille Brotzman, whom he married March 26, 1937, in Madison; two sons, Lyle Deemer of Windsor, Nova Scotia, and Milton Deemer of Stow; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Mae Adams of Ohio City, and Helen Evans of Geneva and a brother, Horace Hobbs.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lowell Deemer.


Memorials service is 2 p.m. Saturday, at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. The Rev. Ronald E. Eppler, of Mentor United Methodist Church in Mentor, will officiate. Burial will be at North Madison Cemetery.  Calling hours are 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
