Randi Jo Brooks

GENEVA - Randi Jo Brooks, 18, of Geneva, died Monday, April 8, 2002, from injuries suffered in a jet-ski accident in Florida. She died at Sacred Heart Health Systems in Pensacola, Fla.

She was born Feb. 2, 1984, in Cleveland, the daughter of Gail (Mack) Brooks and Randy Brooks, and was a lifelong Geneva resident.

She was a senior at Geneva High School, where she was involved with the Mentorship program at Geneva Police Department. She was also a member of the high school's choir and women's chorale.

She was a member of Vaquerro's 4-H Horse Club for six years. She was a former Girl Scout, and participated in and supported the Geneva Youth Basketball League. She helped with the monthly dances for elementary-age students at the Geneva Civic Center, and was a regular Red Cross blood donor.

She worked at the Subway in Geneva, and had enlisted in the Air Force, where she had planned on working the medical field. Family members said she was a blessing to others throughout her life and even at death, because her organs were donated so others may live.

She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Harry Perry.
